TIRUCHI: The National Testing Service-India (NTS-India) will establish 15 regional field units across the country during the current financial year. Stating this here on Wednesday, the Head, NTS-India, Pon. Subbiah, said that under this Centrally-sponsored scheme, the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development had planned to arrive at a commonly-accepted content inputs of education. Regional field units are being set up throughout the country to achieve the desired goal. Against the 60 regional units planned for the purpose, 45 had been established at several places across the country. The balance 15 units would be set up in states including Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Tamil Nadu. The Union Ministry has sanctioned Rs.5 crore for the current year, he added. Co-ordinator of the Tiruchi Zone, K. Rajarathinam, said that the zone comprised four revenue districts of Tiruchi, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur and Pudukottai. As many as 25 arts and science colleges in the zone were being covered under the regional filed unit. Training was being imparted to the faculty members of colleges.
