Film star Amitabh Bachchan at the press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday. NEW DELHI: Bollywood Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan is all set to make a comeback on television in Big Boss Season 3 starting this coming Sunday. Dressed nattily in a black suit and resplendent red shirt, Mr. Bachchan appeared on stage for a press conference here. “What if we knew each other? Then we would have been able to understand each other’s thoughts and weaknesses. People say that the darpan (mirror) doesn’t lie. Darpan can also lie and show us what we want to see. What is on our face, a naqab (veil) or chilman…. Big Boss will explore these things…,” went Mr. Bachchan’s monologue in Hindi. Then the Big B invited Rajesh Kamath, Chief Executive Officer of Colors channel, to the stage. and asked him why he had decided to choose him for the role. Mr. Kamat said: “It is our honour to have Mr. Bachchan on board and we look forward to him to provide the inimitable touch to one of our most popular format shows. Our channel was launched 14 months ago and reached the No. 2 slot after the launch of Big Boss. Now we want to consolidate.” When Mr. Bachchan asked him what a “pop philosopher” meant, Mr. Kamath said: “Earlier you were locking the questions (in Kaun Banega Crorepati), now you will decode or unlock emotions.” The names of the participants are still a secret.
