BANGALORE: Srinath Pobbathi of Karnataka extended his last weekend’s lead in the KSTBA–Star City State-ranking bowling league and is comfortably ahead.
After 18 games at the Star City Bowling Centre here, Srinath with a total of 3570 pinfalls (avg. 198.33) is 143 pinfalls ahead of another Karnataka bowler Girish Gaba (190.39). High scoring games of 233, 225, 205 and 252 helped Srinath surge ahead.
Liyakat Lambe from Maharashtra is third (185.5) followed by Surendra Babu of Tamil Nadu (185.33).
The round II of qualifying is to be held on Thursday in which the top 16 bowlers will bowl six more games on short oil condition after which the field will be pruned to top four for the semifinals.
