Poddar on song

BANGALORE: Amitabh Poddar, with 32 points, led the way in the 0-5 handicap on the opening day of the Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival that got off to a perfect start at the Eagleton Golf Resort near here on Friday.

Anil Kumar finished with 25 points.

In the ‘B’ category (handicap of 6-10), Stef Stangret, with 36 points, won handily, while Rajendra Patil (33) finished in the second spot.

The other three categories were a close affair with Sudarshan Maney (37) in the 11-15 handicap category; Manpreet Sachdeva (37) in the 16-20 handicap category and Michael Delmas (33) in the ‘E’ category (handicap 21-24) led the way.

Praveen Singh (36), R.P. Ramalingam (36) and Prakash Nagesh (32) finished close behind in the three categories respectively. — Special Correspondent
