SHIMLA: Lieutenant-General A. S. Lamba has assumed charge of Army Training Command here a day after his predecessor, Lieutenant-General B. S. Jaswal, took over as General Officer-in-Commanding of Northern Command at Udhampur in Jammu & Kashmir. Gen Lamba, who was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in June 1971, is the 15th GOC of ARTRAC based in Shimla. PriorityTalking to newspersons here, he said his priority would be to prepare troops for all eventualities and bring about an improvement in their battle preparedness including new electronic warfare training. Describing the Indian Army as one of the best armed forces in the world, he said it could be compared to the US or Chinese armies.
