MANGALORE: The decision of the district administration to make its Revenue officials work on Gandhi Jayanti, a government holiday, appears to have paid rich dividends as 13,391 files pertaining to Land Reforms were indexed in a single day. The work was carried out in the taluk panchayat and Deputy Commissioner’s offices. Mangalore Tahsildar Ravichandra Nayak, who supervised the work, said that over 450 revenue officials, including clerks, village accountants, gram sahayaks, revenue inspectors, and deputy tahsildars and assistant commissioners, were involved in the process.
