Chamber seeks better garbage disposal system

KOZHIKODE: The Malabar Chamber of Commerce has adopted resolutions highlighting the need to make the city garbage disposal system more efficient and to ensure daily water supply. Drinking water is now supplied only alternate days in the city.

Another resolution pointed to the need for replacing Korapuzha, Moorad and the Moidu bridges at Dharmadom since the existing ones have become too old to be safe.

Daily flights to Bangalore from Calicut international airport, opening of an emigration office in the city, development of Beypore port, setting up debt recovery tribunal in Kozhikode and sanctioning of a business project submitted for Mavoor panchayat by Aditya Birla group were also demanded in separate resolutions.

Needs of the business community were also underlined.
