Heavy rains in East Godavari

Kakinada: Heavy rains pounded East Godavari district in the last 24 hours under the influence of the low pressure in Bay of Bengal. A total rainfall of 1,290.8 mm was recorded at an average of 21.9 mm. Tuni received the highest rainfall of 51.2 mm and Alamuru the lowest at 3 mm. More rains are likely in the next two days due to recurring low pressures in the Bay. -Staff Reporter
