Bangalore: Former India captain Anil Kumble has said that ensuring availability of key players for big tournaments will be a critical factor in the road ahead for M.S. Dhoni’s men. “Obviously we missed key players like Zaheer Khan and Virender Sehwag in the Champions Trophy and it was unfortunate that Yuvraj Singh too missed out because of injury. It is important that we have our key players for big tournaments. “Just because we have bench strength it doesn’t necessarily mean that we rotate the players and it is essential to have key players for big tournaments. To be fair, India has not done well in only two ICC tournaments (Twenty20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy) but overall the record has been good and looking ahead I am sure we will have better results,” Kumble said here on Saturday. — Principal Correspondent
