Visakhapatnam
Producer and director of ‘Prem rajyam’ at a press conference in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. VISAKHAPATNAM: A retired officer from the Department of Mines and Geology has completed production of a Telugu feature film Prem Rajyam and hopes it has all the ingredients to become a big hit after its release by first week of November. Making a debut as a director, producer and lyricist, J.S. Rao, a local, shot the film at Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam within a record time of 45 days by spending Rs.1.70 crores by pooling up contributions from his friends. The main pair in the love story -- Ram Kiran, who has donned small-time roles earlier and Malayalee actor Meera Krishna -- would get the acceptance from the Tollywood spectators in their maiden acting as hero and heroine, says Rao. He told reporters that the film had comedy as well as some serious stuff and the theme was based on a Hindu-Muslim love story. He said parents, who oppose the proposal, were touched by the development and would change their stand after the hero turns blind and the heroine donates her eyes. Mr. Rao says cameraman A. Vijay Kumar has done a good job and a song at a dhaba by an item girl will provide entertainment to the masses. The film has comedians like Gundu Hanumantha Rao, Jeeva and Kallu Chidambaram.
