CPI (M) unhappy over Cuttack Vision-2030

Correspondent

CUTTACK: The city unit of CPI (M) has expressed its reservation over Comprehensive Development Plan for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack urban complex prepared by the Department of Architecture and Regional Planning of IIT Kharagpur.

In its objection submitted to the government, the party has pointed out that the Plan for Cuttack city is highly inadequate and is not commensurate to the need of the population expected in the year 2030.

“It would take more than five years for the Plan to take shape and by the time it is complete, the vision 2030 would be looking inadequate”, said the city CPI (M) chief Subash Singh.

He was also critical about the Plan as it has not suggested anything for the development of areas in its eastern fringes which is actually the only region left in the city for some new projects.
