‘Deepa Soundarya’ from tomorrow

the country to be

on display


MYSORE: Ramsons Kalapratisthana will organise “Deepa Soundarya”, an 11-day exhibition and sale of traditional lamps of India, from October 9.

Poet Doddarange Gowda will inaugurate the exhibition on Thursday at Pratima Art Gallery near the zoo.

Ramsons is organising this exhibition to herald Diwali. Thousands of lamps from across the country made of clay, stone and metal will be on display.

Clay lamps from Kengeri, Jaipur, Varanasi and Shantiniketan; bronze lamps from Natchiarkoil in Tamil Nadu; “Deepavali Kamba” and “Deepada Mallis”, copper enamel lamps from Maharashtra; brass lamps from Uttar Pradesh, white metal diyas from Hatras and glass lamps from Firozabad will be on display.
