CHANDIGARH: Enthused over the buoyant response of the people at his road shows and election rallies in Ambala, Yamunanagar, Fatehabad, Kaithal and Sirsa districts on Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said he had received huge public support which gave ample indication of a Congress wave. Referring to the performance of his regime during the past four-and-a-half years, he asserted that the State had tasted growth and development without any discrimination. Addressing a rally in Bilaspur town of Sadhaura constituency, he asked the people to vote for the Congress candidate Raj Pal if they wanted all-round development. “The Congress has never won any Assembly election from Sadhaura in the last 35 years, and this is precisely the reason for its backwardness. Send Mr. Raj Pal to the Assembly and we shall change the face of Sadhaura”, he added. Meanwhile, Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda said the voters of Haryana have to make a choice on October 13 between the “autocratic misrule of the Indian National Lok Dal and the people-oriented progressive policies and programmes of the Congress Government”. Sonia, Rahul visitHe was touring places to mobilise workers for the visits of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. Mr. Gandhi is coming to Ateli and Kosli on October 10 while Ms. Gandhi would be addressing an election rally in Jhajjar on October 11. Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and INLD chief Om Parkash Chautala claimed that there was a “wave” in favour of his party in the State. Addressing an election meeting at Bhalot in Kiloi -- the home fief of Mr. Hooda, Mr. Chautala said price rise, unemployment, corruption and anarchy had become issues in the election and people had “made up their mind to punish the Congress for its maladministration and mis-governance”.
