Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: A suspect who allegedly tried to escape after committing a theft in a house was nabbed by R.K. Nagar police in Korukkupet on Wednesday night. According to police sources, Senthil (20) of Jeeva Nagar was sleeping with the doors of his house open as there was a power cut in the locality.
A stranger suddenly walked into the room and took a four-sovereign gold chain and a mobile phone kept on a table. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim, a special team of the R.K. Nagar police reached the spot and arrested the accused, later identified as Mohammed Mohideen (30) of Tondiarpet, who was found hiding in an isolated area. The jewellery and mobile phone were seized from him.
