DMK-Congress front sweeps civic by-polls

CHENNAI: The DMK-Congress combine swept the by-polls to vacancies in various local bodies in the State.

Elections were held on October 7. Rural local bodies registered 68 per cent votes, while urban local bodies recorded 70 per cent. The AIADMK and independents also won a few seats. — Special Correspondent
