For a cause: Elected representatives, government officials and members of voluntary organisations taking out a padayatra in Shimoga on Friday. SHIMOGA: A padayatra was taken out here on Friday to raise donations for relief and rehabilitation of the flood-ravaged victims in north Karnataka. The padayatra, which was flagged off from Ramanna Shresti Park, passed through Gandhi Bazaar, B.H. Road, KSRTC bus-stand, private bus-stand, Ashoka Circle, Nehru Road, Gopi Circle and other major roads. Minister for Energy K.S. Eshwarappa led the padayatra along with Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Haratalu Halappa, District Principal and Sessions Judge S.M. Shivanagoudar, MLAs Beluru Gopalakrishna and K.G. Kumaraswamy, MLC Mir Azeez Ahmed, Shimoga City Municipal Council president N.J. Rajashekhar, Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Superintendent of Police S. Murugan, president of Shimoga Zilla Panchayat H.C. Basavarajappa, Chief Executive Officer of the zilla panchayat A.B. Hemachandra, lawyers, government officials and members of voluntary organisations.
