Kanpur: An Army jawan on Friday shot dead his senior after being denied leave, the police said. According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Lal Bahadur, an Army jawan Gupteshwar belonging to the Defence Service Core shot Lance Naik G. Gajendran after he was denied leave at Panki area. Gupteshwar, hailing from Bihar had asked for leave, three days back but was denied by Gajendran, the SP (Rural) said adding that when Gupteshwar’s duty ended on Friday morning, he shot dead the Lance Naik. The incident came to light, only when Gupteshwar’s reliever Indra Kumar joined the duty.
