NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Friday ordered grant of probate of a will executed by a woman way back in 1985 to her grandson’s wife, ruling out objections raised by her son. In the will, Bhanwari Devi had completely excluded her son Sagar Mal from the share of her movable and immovable properties. “I had given plenty to him of my own free will and he also took forcibly from me. I do not want to give him anything. Therefore, after me Sagar Mal will have no right over my property,” Bhanwari Devi had said in her last will. Willing her properties, Bhanwari Devi said Rs.1.25 lakh in cash was to be given to Jain Vishwa Bharti, the jewellery to be equally divided between Sayar Kumari and Meeta, wife and daughter respectively of Amarao Singh, the adopted son of Sagar Mal. The Kashmere Gate property, including the share in the Minerva cinema hall there, and any other property or properties were to be given to Amrao Singh.She had made Sayar Kumari executor of the will. She had also mentioned in the will that Sagar Mal had been living separately from her for many years and only Bhanwari Kanwari, wife of Sagar Mal, Sayar Kumari and Amrao Singh looked after her. Video filmThe whole execution proceedings of the will had been video-graphed and the film shown to the Court helped it in deciding the grant of probate sought by Sayar Kumari in 1985 through a petition.
