Vana Vismaya concludes

KOCHI: Over one lakh people visited the Vana Vismaya, the forest festival organised as part of the Wildlife Week celebrations, according to Forest officials.

The festival concluded at Ernakulathappan ground on Thursday.

The Wildlife Week celebration should be viewed as an occasion for repentance for the cruelties meted out to Nature, said Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan, judge of the Kerala High Court, in his valedictory address.

V.Giri and P.S. Gopinathan, judges of the Kerala High Court, attended.

Chief Conservators of Forests B.S. Corrie and Siddappa, Divisional Forest Officer N.C. Induchoodan and environmentalist U.K. Gopalan were among those who attended.

K. Sukumaran, former judge of the Kerala High Court, presided.

Various competitions for schoolchildren and nature awareness programme including seminars were also organised as part of the celebrations.
