Giant kiln shells despatched

MILESTONE: Huge Kiln Shell units being despatched from a unit at Thuvakkudi in Tiruchi.

TIRUCHI: Velmurugan Heavy Engineering Industries (VHEI) Private Limited has despatched four units of kiln shells weighing 70 tonnes each to a Denmark-based cement machinery manufacturing major. It is for the first time that such huge shells were made and despatched from Tiruchi, Chief Executive–Operations, VHEI, S. Sampath said. The six-metre diameter shells were made to the quality requirements of FLSmidth Chennai, said Mr. Sampath.
