Boy dies

CHENNAI: A four-year-old boy died after being hit by a car driven by his uncle in Maduravoyal on Wednesday. Poonamallee traffic police said the victim Vignesh was playing near his housewhen his uncle Manikandan, a cab driver, came home in a Tata Sumo. The boy ran towards the vehicle to meet his uncle but Manikandan changed to the reverse gear without realising that Vignesh was behind and knocked him down. The boy suffered severe head injuries and succumbed to it on way to hospital. Police have registered a case of negligence against Manikandan.
