Seven tribals killed in road accident

VIZIANAGARAM: Seven tribals, including two children, were killed and 13 others injured when a truck laden with wheat hit a hillside on the ghat road on the National Highway - 43 at P. Konavalasa under Pachipenta police station limits around 3 p.m. on Friday.
According to Sub-Inspector Prabhakar Rao, the victims hailed from Golleru panchayat, near Sunki, in Koraput district.
They boarded the truck that was going towards Vizianagaram and settled on the wheat bags.
The truck driver while negotiating a sharp turn on the ghat road hit the hill.
Six bodies were found underneath the wheat bags.
All the injured were admitted to Salur Community Health Centre where one of them succumbed to injuries in the evening.
Identity of the dead was being established, the Sub-Inspector added.
