BANGALORE: Autorickshaw commuters in the city will be put to inconvenience on Monday as thousands of autos are expected to keep off the road in protest against the Government’s decision to change the colour of the vehicles from the present yellow and black to green. Several autorickshaw drivers and owners’ unions have decided to participate in the dawn-to-dusk strike, said Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union secretary B.N. Srinivas. Members of the Autorickshaw Drivers Union (CITU) held a protest meeting here at Bannappa Park on Kempe Gowda Road and shouted slogans against Transport Minister R. Ashok. They also demanded a welfare board for themselves under the Social Welfare Funds for unorganised sector.
