Kendriya Vidyalaya students display their talent

Igniting minds: At the social sciences exhibition organised by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Chennai region, for its schools in the Malabar region at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kanjikode.

PALAKKAD: Nearly 400 students from the Kendriya Vidyalayas in Kozhikode, Chevayur, Malappuram, Ottappalam, Olavakkode, Mahe, Kanjikode and Thrissur displayed their talents in science and the arts during the annual social sciences exhibition and cultural festival organised by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Chennai region, at the Kanjikode school on Friday and Saturday.

200 projects

Students at the secondary level exhibited more than 200 projects, such as working and still models, maps and charts. The junior and the senior students competed in debates in Hindi and English, group dance, group song, quiz, light music, jugalbandi, pencil drawing, sketching, colouring and instrumental music at five venues, some outside the school.

World of good

N.K. Srivastava, chairman of the school managing committee and general manager of Instrumentations Ltd., said social sciences helped children in personality development by stimulating their creativity and enabling an understanding of the social life of various regions.

At the closing ceremony, Principal K.P. Ravidas distributed certificates to the winners.
