Gold at new peak

MUMBAI: Standard gold prices rose on Wednesday by Rs. 105 per 10 gram to breach the Rs. 16,000-mark and closed at Rs. 16,010 in the bullion market here on a persistent festive demand amid rise in the overseas markets caused by weaker U.S. dollar, while silver continued to hit new highs.Stockists and retailers continued to buy the precious metal amid the ongoing festivals, boosting their demand.
