Team from Karnataka to meet Manmohan

GULBARGA: Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has said a delegation from the State would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday to seek more assistance from the Centre to take up works in the areas affected both by heavy rain and floods in 14 districts of north Karnataka.

Speaking to presspersons after reviewing relief works at Tinthini and Bandoli in Surpur taluk of the district, Mr. Yeddyurappa said, the delegation would take up with Mr. Manmohan Singh the issue of waiver of farm loans and amendment to crop insurance policy.

The Chief Minister said three teams from the Centre would arrive in the State to assess the damage.
