Fire in office

ARIYALUR: A fire on Sunday noon at the BSNL office in Ariyalur town snapped connections to 8,000 lines serviced through eight exchanges

Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire that was found to have emanated from the A/C machine in one of the rooms on the first floor was extinguished. Sources said the extent of damage was yet to be assessed.

Service to landlines, WLL phones, broadband phones and mobile phones were affected in Ariyalur, Min Nagar, Tirumanur, Elakurichi, Keelapazhur, Senthurai, V. Kaikatti and Thalavai.
