TRS threatens no-trust motion

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has threatened to move a no-confidence motion against the State government holding it responsible for the circumstances leading to recognition of Hyderabad as a ‘free zone’ by the Supreme Court.

The party, with a strength of ten members in Assembly, including Mancherial MLA G. Arvind Reddy, whom it suspended last month, claimed that it had mobilised the support of the requisite 30 members in favour of the motion.

Roundtable meet

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao said a final view on the motion would be taken at a roundtable conference with representatives of all Telangana-based employees’ organisations. The conference would be scheduled after a rally against the Supreme Court judgement at Siddipet on Wednesday.

Mr. Rao said the TRS took the rally seriously as it would mark the commencement of a struggle by the party seeking a constitutional amendment to put an end to governments declaring certain areas as free zones for the purpose of recruitment. The government violated the Constitution by declaring Hyderabad a free zone against provisions of the Presidential Order. He accused the government of carrying out a covert operation to get this status.
