TIRUCHI: An anti-ragging awareness programme was conducted at the M.A.M. College of Engineering and Technology at Siruganur in the district recently. Speaking on the occasion, M. Gomathi Nayagam, Sub Judge and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority said that ragging originated in Greece in the eighth century AD and gradually spread to other countries. It was the duty of every senior student to have cordial relationship with their juniors. Orders had been passed to the District Legal Service Authority to organise seminar on anti-ragging, he added. The College Principal, Dr. M.A. Maluk Mohamed, presided over the programme.
