Teachers call off strike

Staff Reporter

Hyderabad: Teachers of the Hyderabad Public School Begumpet and Ramanthapur have called off their 14-day strike on Monday after the school management agreed to implement the sixth pay commission recommendations.

A spokesperson of the striking teachers said that they had called off their strike after the management responded positively to their demands.

She said teachers would resume classes from Tuesday.

Salary hike

The management had agreed to implement the sixth pay commission recommendations in totality, besides apparently agreeing to spend 65 per cent of the school finances for teachers’ salaries, she added.
