8 huts gutted

ARATHANGI: Television sets and other domestic utensils were destroyed in a fire at Kanjiran Vayal village near here on Tuesday. In all, eight huts were gutted. The incident happened when the inmates, all beneficiaries of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, were away at the work site. Short circuit was said to be the cause. Fire fighting units from Aranthangi fought the flames for an hour.
