BANGALORE: Bangalore University and the Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore, on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding for implementing a social science talent search programme and for academic collaboration at various levels. Under the social science talent search programme, both institutes would identify talented students pursuing graduation in rural colleges of the State and offer them scholarships. Bangalore University Registrar T.R. Subramanya and ISEC Registrar Col. Ashutosh Dhar signed the agreement for a 10-year period in the presence of university Vice-Chancellor N Prabhu Dev and ISEC Director R.S. Deshpande. A committee consisting of senior faculty members from both institutes would identify students and offer them scholarships for pursuing graduation courses in Arts disciplines. As per the agreement, both institutes would collaborate mutually in academic events, in teaching, training and research. The pact encompassed exchange of students and members of faculty between two institutes. Ph.D. students of ISEC would also be jointly supervised by faculty members of both institutes.
