THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Preparations are on in full swing for The Hindu-Young World Quiz ’09, which will be held in the Tagore Centenary Hall at Vazhuthacaud here on Monday. The completed entry forms should reach the Thiruvananthapuram office of The Hindu, as announced earlier, by Saturday. The Thiruvananthapuram edition of the programme is open to students from classes 7 to 9 of schools in the districts of Thiruvananthpuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta of Kerala and Kanyakumari of Tamil Nadu. The entry forms had been sent to schools . Several prizes await the winners. Prizes will be given to the participants who fail to make the grade also. M. Jayachandran, music director and singer, will be the chief guest. The Hindu-Young World Quiz ’09 is being presented by S&M. Kalasalingam University is the associate sponsor. Black Thunder, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd., Gold Winner, Arokya, Vizag Steel, Lotte Caramilk, Crocs, Firefox, Britannica Digital Learning, Penguin, Cherry Blossom and Reynolds are the national sponsors. Real is the beverage sponsor and iads & events, the event manager. Babas and Style Plus are the regional sponsors. The programme is being held in two other centres also in Kerala — in Kochi on October 27 and in Kozhikode on October 29.
