Appeal to doctors

Thiruvananthapuram: Health Secretary (Medical Education) Usha Titus has appealed to the Medical College teachers to withdraw their strike as the government has expressed willingness to discuss anomalies on pay revision as soon as the time limit for election model code of conduct expires.

She said that the date set for the second round of discussions – October 21 – had to be postponed as the model code was in place.

This information, as well as the government’s willingness to hold discussions after November 11, had been passed on to the doctors, she said. — Staff Reporter
