Traffic changes near Guindy railway station

Special Correspondent

TAMBARAM: The Chennai Suburban Police will be implementing certain traffic regulations around Guindy railway station and also between Halda Junction and Grand Southern Trunk Road – M.K.N.Road intersection.

A press release said the new arrangements, to ensure free flow of traffic on GST Road towards the airport, would come into force from Sunday.

As per the changes, the existing stop for Metropolitan Transport Corporation buses bound for Tambaram and Poonamallee on GST Road would be shifted inside M.K.N.Road.

All MTC buses from Halda junction towards Guindy, that now use the bridge near Guindy railway station, would be diverted through Race Course Road and reach the bus stop on M.K.N. Road after travelling over the bridge across the railway track connecting Chakrapani Street with M.K.N.Road. The bridge will be made one way with entry only from Chakrapani Street side. Vehicles cannot enter the bridge from GST Road side.

The police also urged commuters and pedestrians to use the subway opposite Guindy railway station to cross GST Road.
