GM launches Chevrolet Cruze

KOCHI: General Motors India will launch an electric car by October next year. The company has made an arrangement with Reva, the Bangalore-based manufacturers of electric cars, for executing the project, said P. Balendran, vice-president, GM India. It will launch a mini car within the next three months.
He was launching Chevrolet Cruze, a premium car, in Kochi. The vehicle will be available in two variants, LT and LTZ, in the prize range of Rs.11 lakh to Rs.12.5 lakh.
He said the car features included power steering, smart screen, anti-lock braking system, emergency exit system, pushbutton ignition, and audio controls on steering wheels. Mr.Balendran said GM India registered a growth of 9.6 per cent by selling over 65,000 units in 2008.
