HMDA official relieved
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) Chief Engineer, Vivek Deshmukh, has been relieved of his duties following a case of disproportionate assets registered against him. In his place, Superintending Engineer V. Madhwaraja has been given the charge on Saturday.
In a statement issued here, the HMDA cited the information sent by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, ACB City Range-I Hyderabad, on a disproportionate assets case being registered against Mr.Deshmukh on December 26, 2008 and that the case was under further investigation. Listing out the Staff Conduct Regulations read with the CCA Rules, the HMDA statement said Mr. Deshmukh was relieved of his duties as the Chief Engineer with immediate effect.
In his capacity as the Chief Engineer, Mr. Deshmukh has been involved with most of the major projects taken up by the HMDA, including P.V. Narasimha Rao Elevated Expressway, country’s longest such facility. The main structure of the project was completed and thrown open to traffic only last Monday and a week.
