Work on Konark Knowledge Park begins
HYDERABAD: Work at the Rs.100-crore ‘Konark Knowledge Park’, the first public-private partnership project conceived by city-based Bharat Biotech International and Orissa government began on Sunday at Bhubaneshwar. The project aims to boost investments in biotech and pharma sectors in Orissa, a press release said.
Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Orissa, presided over the ground-breaking ceremony. He planted a sapling and unveiled details of the knowledge park. The Orissa government has allocated 64.86 acres in phase I and 24.86 acres in phase II, including ten acres for development of a biotech incubation centre through a special purpose vehicle. The centre is to promote biotech, pharma and IT industries in Bhubaneshwar.
