JNTU-H inks pact with Microsoft

Students will have free access to latest developer and designer tools from Microsoft’s stable
HYDERABAD: To facilitate students to be well-versed with latest tools and technologies, JNTU-H inked an agreement with Microsoft India to offer the company’s DreamSpark programme, a free software giveaway.
Under this initiative students of 380 engineering colleges in the State, affiliated with the university, will have access to latest developer and designer tools from Microsoft’s stable at no cost, a press statement said.
JNTU-H students whose studies touch upon mathematics, science, technology, engineering and design will be offered free academic software licensing, it added. Tools and resources under the programme include Visual Studio 2005 Express, Visual Studio 2005/2008 Professional, Visual Basic 2008 Express, Visual C++ 2008 Express, Visual C# 2008 Express, Visual Web Developer 2008 Express, XNA Game Studio 2.0, Expression Studio 2, SQL Server 2008 Developer, SQL Server 2008 Express, Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition, Virtual PC 2007, 12-month free academic membership in XNA creators club and IT Academy student pass.
