Kozhikode
The re-profiled reservation system will come into effect on January 19. Kozhikode: Following representations from various quarters regarding non-availability of tickets between Kozhikode- Ernakulam- Kozhikode and other intermediate stations, the Southern Railway has re-profiled the passenger reservation system of the train No. 2075/2076 Kozhikode- Thiruvananthapuram- Kozhikode Jan Shatabdi Expresses which will come into effect from January 19, 2010. The original service was from Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam and back. The quota has been so re-allotted to maximise the booking in the newly extended section, Kozhikode- Ernakulam, while at the same time protecting the interests of passengers who are travelling between Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram. New profileThis has been made possible by a close study of the booking pattern in the last two months, a railway release said here on Wednesday. For this purpose, Ernakulam has been defined as a remote location in the train profile. With this, passengers can book tickets from Kozhikode to Ernakulam and back and other intermediate stations by train No.2075/2076 Jan Shatabdi Expresses from January 19 even after completion of charting at Thiruvananthapuram and up to charting at the remote centre, Ernakulam. This will take care of the present complaint of passengers from Ernakulam not being able to book tickets on this train on the day of the journey.
