Announcing the schedule at a press conference here on Wednesday, A.V.S. Reddy, State Election Commissioner, said the model code of conduct would come into effect immediately. However, he said there would be no bar on developmental works. All the works such as laying of roads or repairs to water supply lines would go on normally. “I will issue a circular after consulting agencies like GHMC, HMWSSB and also political parties, if necessary,” he said.

As per the schedule, nominations are to be filed from October 31 to November 6 till 3 p.m. Scrutiny will be taken up on November 7 and the last date for withdrawal will be November 10. The final list will be published on the same day.
