U.S. Community College programme for youth

HYDERABAD: The U.S. Consulate General, with the support of Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, is offering Community College Initiative for youth from Andhra Pradesh.

The one-year programme is open for youth without university background and offers the opportunity to study at a community college in the United States to develop professional skills.

The United States government will provide funding for round trip airfare to the US, tuition costs, health benefit plan and cultural enhancement activities, a press note informed.

Eligible fields for the programme include agriculture, applied engineering, business management and administration, nursing, information technology, media and tourism and hospitality management.

Candidates must have completed secondary school education, have relevant work experience in the field in which they are applying and have English language skills that provide a basis for enrolling in academic course work.

Interested candidates must submit completed applications which can be downloaded from ‘http: //Hyderabad.usconsulate.gov/ccs.html’ by December 4.

The applications must be submitted to the Public Affairs Section, U.S. Consulate General-Hyderabad.
