Hospitals fined

Two hospitals on NSR Road in Saibaba Colony were fined Rs.1,000 each for dumping biomedical waste in and around the community bins kept for collecting only biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste.

Corporation Commissioner Anshul Mishra said he found biomedical waste such as used syringes dumped in the bins.

Biomedical waste should be handed over to a common facility on the outskirts of the city.
