No decision on IIMB Singapore campus
Special Correspondent
Bangalore: Indian Institute of Management Bangalore has set up an internal committee to look into its globalisation strategy, but there is no final decision yet on its plans on setting up a campus in Singapore.
IIMB Director Pankaj Chandra told presspersons on the sidelines of its Foundation Day event that the committee was headed by Dean of Academics, Trilochan Sastry.
A Memorandum of Agreement has been sent to the Government for approval, he added.
He said that allocation for financial aid to students had been doubled from Rs. 2 crore to Rs. 4 crore to ensure that no student was turned away for lack of funds. IIMB had set up a Young Faculty Research Chair this year to encourage excellence, he added. An Advisory Council of the Centre for Public Policy (CPP) had been constituted at IIMB for providing long-term guidance to the activities of CPP, said Prof. Chandra.
