State in financial mess, says Yanamala

Correspondent

Blames YSR, Rosaiah and KVP for the crisis

Non-cooperation from Ministers adding to Rosaiah’s woes

Centre yet to release money towards flood relief, he says

VIZIANAGARAM: TDP Polit Bureau member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has blamed the late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Chief Minister K. Rosaiah and MP K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao for the present financial crisis and collapse of the government systems. “What happened to the Rs. 1-lakh crore revenue earned from all sources?” he asked. The State revenue increased by Rs. 50,000 crores and the government borrowed Rs. 51,000 crores during the last five years.

Jalayagnam projects

Projects taken up under Jalayagnam had not been completed. The government was not in a position to pay salaries to employees, Mr. Ramakrishnudu told a press conference here on Wednesday. The late chief minister’s effect on finances was clear. The government was to clear bills of project contractors to the tune of Rs. 10,000 crores, apart from bills under Arogyasri and NREGP works.

Yet, the government was not taking steps to rectify them because there was no coordination between Mr. Rosaiah and his Cabinet Ministers.

They were busy lobbying in Delhi for ministerial berths in anticipation of Cabinet reshuffle in the near future. It was unfortunate that the Chief Minister, owing to non-cooperation from Ministers, was reportedly writing letters to them to work.

Campaign for Jagan

At the time of floods, the Ministers, instead of attending to relief and rehabilitation, worked overtime to campaign in favour of Jaganmohan Reddy, Kadapa MP, for the Chief Minister’s post. It subsided only after Mr. Jagan met the Congress president.

Even now, the Chief Minister was facing non-cooperation from Ministers. As a result, the system totally paralysed.

The government sought Rs. 12,800 crores as assistance for flood relief. Following the appeal, the Prime Minister promised Rs. 1,000 crores as advance.

That too was no released so far, he said, and added that the government sought Rs. 9,500 crores for tackling drought in 14 districts. But there was no response from the Centre.

On ‘free zone’ issue, he said that there was no mention of such a word either in the Presidential Order or Supreme Court judgment / six-point formula / GO 610. P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, MLA, and other party leaders were present.
