Police probing foreign evangelist’s visa details

Staff Reporter

Thiruvananthapuram: The State police are investigating whether Bernard Blessing, an evangelist from Ghana, has the visa for leading prayer meetings in the State. Mr. Blessing, preacher and faith healer, is scheduled to attend prayer meetings at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium here on November 2, 3 and 4. Earlier, the Hindu Aikya Vedi had given a petition to the police stating that Mr. Blessing was travelling to India on a tourist visa. It said that if he attended or led a prayer meeting, it would be a violation of visa conditions. The organisation threatened to hold protest meetings outside the prayer meeting venue.
