CCI clears upgradation of three road projects

NEW DELHI: The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) on Thursday cleared the upgradation of three road projects in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, at a cost of Rs.2,776 crore.
The CCI, set up under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, approved the four-laning of the 84km Barasat-Krishnanagar section of the National Highway 34 in West Bengal at an estimated cost of Rs.859 crore.
The concession period will be for 24 years on the the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis, including a construction period of three years.
The committee also approved the four-laning of the 121-km stretch of Moradabad-Bareilly section of NH 24 in Uttar Pradesh at a cost of Rs.1,267 crore. It also cleared the four-laning of the Rohtak-Bawal section of NH 71 in Haryana at a cost of Rs.650 crore.
