Mandatory inspection of domestic LPG installation

Coimbatore: The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have instructed its distributors to carry out the mandatory inspection of customers’ premises once in two years.

In a release, the IOC , Senior Area Manager, S. Lakshmi Narayanan, BPCL Territory Manager, S. Thangavel and G. Subramanya of HPCL said that the distributors are authorised to charge Rs. 40 for the inspection.

The inspection is to ascertain the safety of installation and kitchen, confirmation of address of the customer and also to have a personal interaction.

The distributors are required to issue proper receipt for the amount collected for mandatory inspection and ensure that the persons deputed for the inspection are given proper identity cards by the distributor.

Customers are requested to ensure proper identity of the person before allowing them into their premises.

They are not authorised to collect any equipment from the customers such as cylinder, regulator, subscription voucher and domestic gas consumer card.
