Jeev loses to Villegas

CASARES (Spain): Lee Westwood, Camilo Villegas, Henrik Stenson and Rory McIlroy kept alive their hopes of reaching the semifinals in the World Matchplay championship here on Friday.

Westwood beat Ross Fisher by two holes and Villegas defeated Jeev Milkha Singh 3 up. All four players in Group D have two points.

However, Jeev, who had beaten Westwood on Thursday, leads the group with a better hole difference.

The results: Group A: Paul Casey lost to Retief Goosen by 1 hole; Anthony Kim lost to Scott Strange by 3 holes.

Group B: Sergio Garcia bt Martin Kaymer by 4 holes; Robert Allenby bt Oliver Wilson by 2 holes.

Group C: Henrik Stenson bt Angel Cabrera by 2 holes; Rory McIlroy bt Simon Dyson by 2 holes.

Group D: Lee Westwood bt Ross Fisher by 2 holes; Camilo Villegas bt Jeev Milkha Singh by 3 holes. — AP
