PALAKKAD: District Medical Officer P.R. Karunakaran said here on Sunday that the Health Department was prepared to meet any emergency if influenza A (H1N1) spread in the district. He said a special team was taking preventive steps and providing relief to those affected by the disease. Medicines had been made available in the district hospital, the taluk hospitals of Mannarkkad, Ottappalam and Alathur, and the super-specialty hospital at Kottathara in Attappady.
